Many health agencies, across the world, recommend that people should have 150 minutes of physical activity at a moderate intensity. For vigorous intensity, you will need 60-75 minutes per week.
According to Christine Friedenreich, from the Alberta Health Services in Edmonton, exercising 300 minutes per week, is much better and far more effective in losing fat than 150 minutes exercising. This benefit is even more important for obese women. Also, it is more effective in obese women. This trial proved that we can use physical activity as a way of reducing the risk from premenopausal breast cancer.
Researchers from the trial, included women with a BMI (body mass index) between 22 and 40. All of them should stay on their diet during the trial. Aerobic exercises that can raise heart rate to 65% or 75% were allowed. Women who participated in the trial, had an experienced trainer at the beginning. They had to learn how to properly use: stationary bicycles, treadmills and elliptical trainers. Trainers also provide detailed information about exercises those women can do at home.
Women who used this exercising plan, lost 1% (1kg) of total body fat. This is the average reduction. They also had reduction in several more fat types.
