Sheldon Richardson, New York Jets defensive tackle has just confirmed that his teammate and New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson will be featuring in the team’s minicamp that is set for Tuesday.
It has been a very interesting offseason for Jets fans as well as Wilkerson who missed most part of the teams offseason due to contractual dispute. Over the weekend, the New York Jets defensive end, Wilkerson, said that he will be making his decision on whether or not he will be playing for the jets come next season.
“I believe it’s a business, so it will probably take a very long time,” said Wilkerson when talking about a long term-contract extension with the New York Jets. “All this is still new, but I hope that we will be able to get something done very soon.”
Wilkerson will be entering the final year of his rookie contract with the New York Jets after the team had exercised their 5th year option. According to various reports, the talented defensive end is set to make an impressive 6.9 million dollars in 2015. That said, the star is working on getting a more lucrative deal with the New York Jets.
Many have called his move of ensuring that he takes part in the team’s minicamp which is usually mandatory as smart given the fact that he might end up being fined a whooping 72,000 dollars in an event that he misses out in the team’s minicamp.
