Lions vs Cowboys: Romo brings his A-game

On Sunday, Tony Romo taught his critics that he wasn’t a force to be trifled with. Due to a remarkable eight-yard touchdown, the Dallas Cowboys won a comeback victory over the Detroit Lions with 24-20. The team won in a Wild Card Round at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

By the middle of the game, the Cowboys were looking at their final game of the season. They were down 20-7 by third quarter after Matt Prater managed a field goal. The team was not ready to go down fighting.

In the ultimate turnaround, the Cowboys scored 17 points almost out of nowhere. Several times during the game, the Lions would build up momentum, only to be crushed by Dallas. Lion’s rivals were continuously scoring big plays with its impressive offense.

Tony Romo took control of the game at last with his second touchdown. By the end of the day, the surprising star had 19 of 31 passes with 293 yards. The MVP candidate owed much of his success to his 76-yard score to Williams in the second quarter.

On his victory, the star commented that “it’s all about winning.” He reiterates, “You’re judged as quarterback and coaches on that. That’s what the game is all about. I think it’s a great thing. That’s why you have to play great when it counts.”

The Cowboys have won five consecutive games, but this is their first playoff win since 2009. The Cowboys are in for a long season unless they step up their game, though. The 24 points Dallas won were the lowest since Thanksgiving. Hopefully, Romo will continue to play great for the rest of the postseason.
