Jarvis Landry is wanted by Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens seem decided to bring in Jarvis Landry. The Dolphins receiver is coming very close to become a free agent and apparently there is no re-sign on the table yet.  Of course, this has sparked some interest by the NFL.

According to a January report in the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens have inquired about getting Landry in the 2017 offseason. But then, the Dolphins' demands for giving in were "prohibitive".

The Dolphins, however, emphatically denied those claims.  “I told him there was no chance he’s being traded,” Coach Adam Gase said in August. “If something that’s not true comes out like that, and I’m informed of it, I’m going to approach the player and tell him what really is the story.”

Jarvis has closed his best season as Miami's top player with a record franchise of 112 passes for 987 yards and a career-high nine touchdowns.  Not to mention that he was one of the top red-zone threats in the NFL.

That was the end of his rookie year where he was paid $3.5 million for four years. In those four years, he averaged 1,010 yards per year.

Last year, Landry did not get an extension. The Dolphins will now have to contend with Landry's market value.  We are looking at a possible $15 million per year as offers begin to pour in.

“Any negotiation we wouldn’t comment publicly, but philosophically we want to draft, develop, and keep as many of our own as possible,” vice president Mike Tannenbaum said at the beginning of the year. “We’ll see what happens with Jarvis and a few other noteworthy free agents. In a perfect world, we keep them all. There’s a salary cap, so we’ll make those decisions at the appropriate time within the context of what’s best for the organization.”
