The question that has been on almost everyone’s mind has been whether Dez Bryant has the ability of pulling of an Emmitt Smith and avoid the Dallas Cowboys as we get into the regular season. There is no doubt whatsoever that Bryant had a very difficult time when he made the decision of staying away from the team’s offseason program. During his no-show period, Bryant would turn up and actually meet up with the team’s coaches. That said it is very unlikely that will be seeing Bryant during the upcoming minicamp, which is mandatory given the fact that he is unsigned.
As much as the fans or even Sam himself would like to make a comeback to the team, that possibility is looking highly unlikely given the fact that neither Bryant’s camp nor the team’s camp have shown any great move so as to see to it that he has been given a longer contract. The Cowboys, who are supposed to be the ones to follow up on the whole deal, have been very slow when it comes to seeing the deal through.
According to various reports, there haven’t been any serious talks that have been arranged or organized between Bryant’s agents, Kim Miale of Roc Nation and CAA’s Tom Condon and the team despite the fact that we are edging closer to the team’s mandatory minicamp. The only time the two camps actually sat down together was in February during the NFL scouting period.
At the moment, there is no clear indication what exactly will happen as both camps are said to want different things from the new deal that they are to agree on and thus many people have been wondering whether Bryant will pull of an Emmitt Smith and miss out on the Cowboys’ regula season.
